Principal Joanna Featherstone concentrated, her hand lifting to a stray lock of her long black hair. As she held it between her fingers, she felt a tingling sensation that confirmed her suspicions. There had been a breach.

A magic that had held strong for a century had somehow been broken. Her mind reached out, trying to find the source....

Mary, she realized. But was it a fluke accident, or had Joanna's secret been discovered by the malevolent forces that were held at bay by the magic over which she had been given stewardship?
